Rev. Paul Hoemann has served as pastor at Concordia, Frohna since August 2019. Prior to that, from 2003-2019, he was campus pastor/missionary at University Lutheran Chapel in College Station, Texas, serving American and international students at Texas A&M University.
His first call, back in 1999, was to serve the LCMS-Northern Illinois District as a missionary to international students. Under his leadership, the NID initiated ministries of friendship and hospitality among international students and their family members at University of Illinois-Chicago (1999), Northwestern University (1999) and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb (2001).
Before entering the ministry, Hoemann served two and a half years as a volunteer missionary in Fukushima, Japan, through the LCMS's Volunteer Youth Ministry program. Prior to that, he was director of communications at Concordia University, River Forest, and served as a writer/editor for the University of Missouri-Columbia’s Publications and Alumni Communication office. He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Missouri, where he earned a bachelor of journalism degree. Hoemann is a native of St. Louis.
He is married to Amy (Dorn), a 1988 graduate of Concordia University, River Forest, where she earned a degree in exercise science and fitness management. Currently, Amy serves as teacher's aide at United in Christ Lutheran School. The Hoemanns have a daughter, Anna.
